Full-time or Part-time Bakers

 

We are a new independent bakery & café on Commercial Drive specializing in naturally leavened sourdough breads and French-style pastries. We bake everything onsite from scratch. We are looking for creative and passionate people who love to bake and work as part of a team. We take pride in the products we produce and promote a positive and inclusive work environment. 

 

No previous commercial baking experience is required, but a love for baking and a willingness to learn is a must. 

 

We are looking for people that are: 

  • Punctual and reliable, can work early mornings and weekends

  • Always willing to learn and be challenged

  • Able to manage time and work under pressure

  • Physically fit, able to stand for long periods/lift heavy objects 

  • Comfortable with numbers and basic math 

  • Able to take direction and communicate within a team environment 

  • Maintain a sanitary work environment 

 

Team members rotate among the following duties: 

  • Scale and mix ingredients according to recipes

  • Hand shape sourdough breads, baguettes and viennoiseries

  • Bake pastries, breads, cookies, cakes 

  • Decorate tarts, cakes, etc.

 

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly salary plus performance bonus

  • Group benefits offered after six months full time employment

  • Staff meal program

 

Foodsafe certification is a plus (but not required).
